CAREER HISTORY

RICHLAND COLLEGE, Dallas County Community College District (5/97 to present)

Director, Corporate and Community Relations

Market, sell and deliver Richland College credit and non-credit courses to companies and organizations in North Dallas. Work with company training managers and college instructors to develop and tailor courses to meet the unique needs of each customer. Coordinate class enrollment and billing. Develop promotional materials and special events to draw awareness to college courses and resources. Recruit and evaluate instructors to teach in business and industry. Work with the campus resource development office to identify and work with companies eligible for state and federal grants.

Currently working at the new Richland College Garland Campus in Garland, Texas.

Managed training for the Professional Training Division (Spring, Fall and Winter terms). Recruited, hired, and supported instructors teaching classes in digital imaging, digital video, 3D modeling and animation, multimedia, web design and basic computer skills. Worked with instructors on course descriptions for AFI Training Catalog. Developed relationships with hardware/software vendors to promote and incorporate their products into AFI programs. Organized special events and seminars focused on new media and directed seasonal open houses for the Professional Training Division. Represented AFI at trade shows and hosted multimedia presentations for visitors to AFI's campus. Hired, scheduled and supervised interns and program volunteers. Prior to working for the Professional Training Division, supported AFI Development Director overseeing AFI memberships, special events and donor cultivation.

Worked with Agency Producer and Creative Team to service Nissan Motor Corporation regional management and dealer body. Duties included maintaining demo reel library and art files, updating and tracking all changes in ad copy, booking sessions at facilities, cutting purchase orders, and inputting information in jobs database. Prior to joining new Dallas office, assisted Executive Account Director and Field Account Director managing $300 million Nissan Regional Account in the Los Angeles office.

Launched the Advanced Technology Program's "Evening With" series to bring together students and prominent digital artists at AFI. The night included an "Open Lab" for students to sample software related to each speaker's expertise.

 

Coordinated or worked as a volunteer in support of the AFI Computer Media Salon Series and special events for the Advanced Technology Program, Film & Television Arts Program, AFI Life Achievement Award, International Film Festival and movie premieres.

 

Created PLANETOIDS, a 3D computer strategy game concept as an instructional tool to help interns and students learn software applications and work together in the creative process.

Colonel in the Commemorative Air Force B-29/B-24 Squadron based in Addison, Texas. Crew member for "FIFI" the world's only flying B-29 Superfortress and "Diamond Lil" one of only two flying B-24 Liberators. Editor of Squadron newsletter and contributor on graphics projects.

For Journey, a gang-alternative youth group sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas, created broadcast and print advertising as part of a new public service campaign.

For The Incest Recovery Association, wrote and helped produce the broadcast spot UNSPOKEN TRAGEDY. PSA received honorable mention at the Dallas Ad League Awards.
